For this week at "I am the Diva Challenge #316" we are using stripes as our string. We can use any tangle as long as it is in stripes. When I read the challenge I immediately thought of creating stripes using tangles in one side with a black background and in the other side the same tangle but in white background. A few days ago I read a quote from J.K. Rowling's that I really liked so I wrote it down and had it right there on my desk. The quote refers to the light and dark inside all of us, so I guess it translated to light and dark inside all tangles as well ... isn't it funny how our mind works? ;-)
Here is my tile and J.K.Rowling's quote:
As you can see I used all the patterns in their two versions, first in it's usual white background and then in the opposite stripe same pattern but with a black background.
The pattern I used in the first two outer stripes was "Flux in wavy line". In the next two stripes I used my tangle "Deco Scrolls" (step outs can be found by clicking pattern's image on the blog side bar). Next the third row of stripes I used "Fescue with a twist or Amily" as Melinda Barlow explains it in one of her You tube videos, and at the very center I used "Mooka" with white Gelly Roll Pen over black. I't is rainy and dark outside so the image turned out darker than how it looks in real life, but well I can't complain, showers bring May flowers, and I love flowers! ;-) I hope you enjoyed the tile as well as the quote. As always if there is anything from this post that you would like to try in your own work please feel free to do so. - CraftyGirl

I really love that quote and how you used it as inspiration to create a unique and meaningful piece! 5/20/2017 09:11:45 am
This is so stunning! I really like the idea of reversing white and black backgrounds and have often used it, but this is by far the best example of it I've ever seen.
