Hello everyone! after two very busy weeks I finally had some time for myself and relax a little bit and draw and I have two tiles to share with you. Let's start with Adele Bruno's It's a String Challenge #338. In this challenge we had a string with four candy corns touching each other, and for patterns to use we had "N'Zeppel" by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, "Craked" by Lori Howe and "Tira" by Ragged Ray. I had all the intention of using all three patterns but after drawing Tira and N'Zeppel I thought it would be too busy to add another one ;-) This tile was done with black Micron pen, superfine 005 Prismacolor sienna pen and Crayola colored pencils, and here it is, I hope you like it. 3.5' by 3.5' tile, patterns: Tira and N'Zeppel A few days after writing this post I looked at the Candy Corns in my tile and thought they might use a little bit of more shading. And here is the end result after adding more shading with graphite and color pencils.
Starting this post with my tile for Adele Bruno's "Its a String Thing Challenge #214". This challenge invited us to join in the 100th Netherlands's celebration of the "de Stijl" (the Style) Dutch movement, and Piet Mondrian's famous primary colored blocks and white fields with perpendicular lines. With this in mind Adele gave us a string with several stripes and the tangles to use were "Paradox", "Hallibaugh" and "Beeline". As much as I wanted to include all three tangles my tile got full with just Paradox and Hallibaugh! This tile was done with black 005 Prismacolor Fineliner, blue and red Gelly Pens and graphite for shading. Here is the end result: 3.5 by 3.5 in. tile. Patterns: Hallibaugh, Paradox and Black Pearls (in this case in red) The next tile is not part of any challenge and was done just for fun. This Monday October 9 we celebrate Thanksgiving here in Canada and this tile was inspired by all the delicious Pumpkin, Apple, and Rhubarb pies. Happy Thanksgiving Canada! This tile was done with black and brown Micron pens and several brown and beige colored pencils, graphite for shading and white gel pen for highlights. Here is the end result: 3.5 by 3.5 in. tile, patterns: Huggins, Bales and Marito That's it for now...I hope you like them and come and visit often! Thanks in advance to all of those of you leaving kind comments. May your life be full of joy and wonder....Stay Inspired! - CraftyGirl Three tiles this time, one for It's a String Thing #213 and two I am the Diva #334 and #33510/2/2017
These are my latest tiles for It's a String Thing and I am the Diva Challenges. For last week's Adele Bruno's "It's a String Thing #213" we had a zig zag string creating 4 triangular areas and we had to use the tangle "Fasset". Here is my take on it with my first try at "Tranzending" on a tan tile using brown Micron pen, Crayola color pencils, white Gelly roll pen, graphite and white Chalk: For "I am the Diva Challenge # 334" we had to use the tangle "Crazy N'Zeppel". I used a tan tile with black and brown Micron pens a white Gelly roll pen and Crayola colored pencils. Here is my tile: This week at Adele's Bruno "It's a String Thing #212" we had a very nice spiral string to work with using tangles "Wrapped" by Gail Sherman, CZT, "Ok-rah" by Liza Buckley, CZT and "Danzer" by Prairie Kittin. This were all new tangles to me which made the challenge a bit interesting specially because halfway thru the tile the sections I was creating were not looking good, I wasn't loving it and almost gave up on my tile, but a voice kept telling me to continue one step at a time. I am glad I listened because even before shading, it was definitely not looking nice but once I added the shading it came to life and now I really like it... I guess you never know until the very end! ;-) Here is the end result: I liked the Adele's spiral string so much that I decided to use the same string for "I am the Diva Challenge #333: Cozy Up for the change of Season". As you can see I am still in "Seed's-N-Angles" frenzy (my new tangle posted in the previous blog) so I decided to add a bit of "Marasu" behind Seed's-N-Angles border and pair it with "Hybred" since to me it is warm, organic and cozy almost like beautiful wood planks in a weaving pattern. Here is the end result: If you missed my previous post and like to learn more about "Seeds-N-Angles" click here. By the way, thanks for all the nice comments I had on this pattern. Your words meant the world to me! I hope you like them and have a joyful cozy season ;-). Thanks for visiting and spread as much love and joy all around you....Stay Inspired! - CraftyGirl |
