For Adele's Bruno "Its a String Thing challenge #192" we had an interesting string to work on: lines inspired by the "Fabriano Paper Company" watermark, company that creates all Zentangle tiles. The tangles to work with were: "Hearts-a-Flutter" by Leslie Goldberg, "Wrapped Eggs" by Livia Chua" and "Msst" by Maria Thomas.
Yesterday when I published this post I was not entirely sure about the background on my tile but liked how my tile was looking and quite honestly I was afraid of continuing drawing and mess it up, so I left it as it was and wrote the post. Later I kept looking at the tile asking myself what was I so afraid of?... even if I messed up, what is the worst that can happen?...nothing really, so I armed myself with "courage"and worked on it a bit more, creating more shading, adding more sections of what it looks to me like leaves or feathers from the "Hearts-a-Flutter" pattern and I removed the original pencil background with "Msst" and instead added "Msst" inside each "feather/leaf". here are both results:
Original Tile
After working a bit more on it...
To my surprise now it looks like if there are feathers protecting a heart in the middle! I am so glad I decided to keep going. This was one of what I call "Touch of Light" moments that happens while I am drawing... I learn a bit more about myself and get into an aha! moment :-) For this tile I used a black Micron pen, Prismacolor colored pencils "Crimson Red", "Orange", "Pale Vermillon" and "Yellow Orange", white Gel pen for highlights and graphite for shading. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share a little bit about my learning process. It was great fun working on this tile and the tile was full of enlightenment ;-) I hope you like it and come and visit often. As always if there is anything from this post that you would like to use in your own work please feel free to do so. -CraftyGirl Comments are closed.
