This time I have two tiles for Adele's Bruno "It's a String Thing Challenge" one forIAST #205 and another forIAST #206.
For IAST #205 we had a string similar to a sun and we had to use the tangles Pauline's Pigtail by Adele Bruno, Shard by Carole Ohl and Shattuck by Maria Thomas. This was my first time drawing "Shattuck" all around in a circle and somehow it created a slightly different look than my usual Shattuck. Then I added "Pauline's Pigtail" in the center and I had fun trying to create a gem around it and then "Shard" encasing it. Here is the end result:
This tile was made with black Micron pen, a combination of Prismacolor and Crayola colored pencils and white gel pen for highlights.
Now for IAST # 206 we had a string that somehow made me think of a cushion and then when I read that one of the tangles we had to use was "Yin-Cut" by Maria Thomas I knew exactly where to start. The other two tangles to use were "Funbea" by Beate Winker, CZT and "Pach" by Judy Okawa. I decided to create a cushion with Yin-Cut and use Pach and Funbea along with a little bit of Printemps and Marasu (both from Zentangle) as the cushion decorations. Here is the end result:
This tile was made with black, and brown Micron Pens, Le Plume II marker no. 30 Rosewood for the light beige Printemps and shading with Prismacolor pencils and graphite.
Finally, the tile for "I am the Diva Challenge #327" we had use a beautiful pattern called "Lisbon Fragment" by Henrike Bratz and the "Diva Dance" by the Diva, Laura Harms. I did some red Diva Dance flowers and added some "Fescue with a twist" next to them. For the "Lisbon Fragment" I colored it's sections with two different colors and then on the section of the very bottom I added some "Bales " just for fun. Here is the end result:
This tile was made with red Sharpie Pen marker, black Micron pen, Prismacolor Colored pencils, and white gel pen for highlights.
I had lots of fun and happy relaxing time creating this tiles. I hope you liked them and come and visit often.

I like the bales in the background og the lisbon fragment. Your creation makes the eye change focus alle the time betwenn the top layer and the backgrond. very clever too! 8/4/2017 07:04:31 am
Thank you Henrike, I love your pattern! I found the steps very easy to follow and in difference to B'twined you explain all the variations created by the initial structures giving us different effects, I loved it! This time I used your 3rd structure example. Lisbon Fragment looks beautiful by itself as a grid, but when I saw your embellishment examples I had to try something too!! :-) Thank you Henrike! Your pattern definetly will go into my "favorite grid pattern's list" 8/5/2017 01:13:35 am
All your tiles are beautiful. I don't do the string thing challenges, but I'm almost tempted after seeing your work. However, then I'd be tangling all the time instead of just much of the time. ;-)

Lovely tiles! The challenge for The Diva, however, is just dazzling with the design and colors!

Like the color combination. Like the diamond in the background of Lisbon fragment. 8/7/2017 02:53:43 pm
These are all such amazing pieces! I love what you did with Lisbon Fragment. The depth you achieved is wonderful and such delightful colors;-) 8/9/2017 09:28:40 pm
