Tile for "I am the Diva Challenge #322: Trying Aquafleur"

6/27/2017

This week at "I am the Diva Challenge #322" we were asked to create a tile using "Aquafleur" pattern by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. This was my first time trying this tangle and I have to say I really enjoyed it, I loved its soft curves and how it creates a beautiful shell or flower.

I had a little bit more time than usual since my kids were busy studying for their finals ;-)  and I was having so much fun with Aquafleur that I was able to do two tiles...and here they are:

                                                                                  First tile:

                                                                                Second Tile

The tile on the bottom was my fist attempt with Aqueafleur, for my second attempt (top tile) I felt a little bit more comfortable with Aquafleur and dare to try drawing patterns inside the "shell" sections. It was a little hard to fit patterns in the tiny areas, and for a moment I almost stop, but I kept at it "one stroke at a time" and I did it! ;-)

Both tiles were done on toned tan Strathmore paper, using black and brown Micron pens,  Prismacolor color pencils and for highlights white chalk and white gel pen.

I hope you like them and as always if there is anything from this post that you would like to try on your own drawings please feel free to do so.

Tile for "It's a String Thing Challenge #200"

6/23/2017

This time I will go straight to the point as this have been a very busy week with little time for drawing and posting, but I made an effort to draw this tile little by little in every chance I had as I didn't want to miss the opportunity to participate in  Adele's Bruno big celebration reaching the 200th challenge mark! Woo-Hoo! two hundred weeks bringing us the magic of Zentangle with new strings and new tangles to use. Thank You Adele!

In this challenge we had a string made up of a capital cursive letter "C' followed by a small cursive letter "C" representing the 200 number with the Roman Number "CC". For tangle we had Adele's new tangle "C-Perf" which brings us an array of possibilities using "Perfs" (circles) connected with letters c's.

I decided to create strings of interconnected letter "c's" and a few of flower-star like drawings using 4 Cursive letter C's in mirror fashion joined together with horizontal letter "c's" and topped with a dot as decoration.  Here is the end result:

I used a tan color paper, Black Micron pen, a brown Spectrum Noir marker, Prismacolor Colored Pencils and a white gel pen.

I hope you like it and join us celebrating Adele's Bruno #200th challenge!

Please come and visit often and as always is there is anything from this post that you would like to use in your own work please feel free to do so.

Tiles for "It's a String Thing #199" and "I am the Diva challenge #320"

6/15/2017

This week at Adele's Bruno "It's a String Thing #199" we were asked to use the tangles "Apacore" by Lori Manoogian, CZT.  and "Wired" by Suzanne Mc.Neill, CZT.
"Apacore" is a beautiful wavy tangle with sections that look like petals. I started with a few in the center of my tile and I guess since Adele's daughter celebrated her wedding this past Saturday the idea of a weeding bouquet came into mind. ;-)  I used the string to created a few ribbons on the sides decorated with "Wired" details.

Here is my tile:

This week at"I am the Diva Challenge #320" we had to create a tile using the tangle "Dansk" by Margaret Bremner CZT. This was my first time using this tangle and I really enjoyed it!

I decided to start by drawing Dansk in a random section at the bottom of my tile, without really knowing what I was going to do with the rest of the space. As I was drawing Dansk I thought it looked like little seeds growing and creating roots, so with that in mind I let the idea flow with little mushrooms, as Melinda Barlow called them in one of her Youtube videos "Poke Leaf with a twist", a sun (using Dansk again), and  for foliage another tangle by Margaret Bremner called "Pixioze" .

Here is my tile:

While I was drawing this tile I kept thinking how we are all unique, yet we are all connected...even when each one of the mushrooms is unique and special in their own way...their roots are all interconnected. I guess they will help each other to stand against the wind!  ;-)

I hope you like them and come and visit often. As always if there is anything fro this post that you would like to use in your own drawings, please feel free to do so.

Tiles for "I am the Diva", "It's a String thing #198" and extras

6/9/2017

When I read Lily Moon's post presenting her new tangle "Agni" which she created in the loving memory of her daughter, I was very moved and decided right there to make the time this week to draw a tile on her honor with this beautiful pattern. To read Lily Moon's post and see step outs for this pattern click here.

Little did I know that just the next day the challenge for "I am the Diva" would be to create a "Bead Inspired" tile for the "Beads of Courage Program" . Perfect for Lily Moon's pattern which is full of beautiful pearls or beads! so I started right away in every little free time I had creating  my tile using "Agni" pattern.

Before I had finished my "Bead Inspired" tile I read Adele's Bruno post with "It's a String Thing challenge #198" and to my surprise Adele created a string to use with a letter "A" for "Agni" and asked us to use "Agni" pattern along to "Knightsbridge" and "Tira".  I think we were all in sync ;-)

So here are my tiles all using Lily Moon's beautiful "Agni" pattern.

For "I am the Diva"  Beads of Courage:

And for "It's a String Thing #198"

I did a second tile using same string and same patterns but different approach. Not so sure about how this one turned out, but here it is ;-)

And lastly I had a wonderful time last weekend drawing this tile with no hurry at all while enjoying the sun on the backyard deck.

For this one I used tangles still with influenced of last week's challenges "Icanthis", "Bales" and my pattern "Deco Scrolls" (for it's step outs click HERE)

I hope you like them and come back and visit often. As always if there is anything from this post that you would like to try in your on work please feel free to do so.
