Now for this week's "I am the Diva Challenge #326" we had to create a Monotangle tile of N'zeppel and  at the same time tap into the zentangle mindfulness and reflect about moments where just like a teenager we have felt that we do not fit in.

As I was thinking in life's ups and downs  where sometimes we feel we have everything figured out and all is going up and smooth and then a change comes along and  we feel like all is coming down forcing us to readjust and find a new balance, a new us. I guess that is life's cycle, just like waves in the ocean... that gave me the idea to start my tile with a wave string. This forced me to the uncomfortable  unknown of drawing "N'Zeppel" in an spiral grid, for a moment I thought that was too difficult and almost changed my mind, but then I thought just like teenagers I must keep going on and face the fear one step at a time...  I think it turn out quite all right ;-)   To my surprise the wave created a half heart in the empty space so I decided to  continue the heart  filling the rest with colored N'Zeppel.

This tile done with brown and black Micron pens, white chalk, graphite and Burnt Ochre Prismacolor coloured pencil.

 In Adele's Bruno "It's a String Thing #203" we had a string to work with very similar to the "Yin-Yang"symbol and the patterns "SeZ" by Rick Roberts and "Trilad" by Laura Liu, CZT.

All "SeZ's" circles plus the string similar to Yin-Yang invited me to create a Yin-Yang tile with "SeZ" in two different color versions.
Here is my tile along with a my my thoughts while I was drawing it.:

This tile was made with "Le Plume" markers in the background colors, white gel marker, and gel pens in copper and silver.

Now for Adele's Bruno "Its a String Thing #204" we had an interesting  string with big handwritten letters saying "I do" and the patterns to use were "Bluebonnets" by Suzanne McNeil and a tangle of our choosing one that we wish we had come up with ourselves, one that makes you say "wow, I wish I would have thought of that!" The tangle I chose is "Abundies" by Hanny Waldburger for two reasons,  first, I think it is gorgeous and secondly, I love Hanny's story of why she named the tangle "Abundies" as a way of  sending good seeds and thoughts so we can all connect with our inner abundance. This tile was made with brown and black Micron pens, and Prismacolor colour pencils.

Lastly my tile for "I am the Diva Challenge #325" we were asked to draw a tile using the tangle "Peanuckle" by Molly Hollibaugh CZT. Since this tangle has the appearance of a basket weave i thought it would be nice to draw a cone basket full of beautiful summer flowers.

I was still thinking about "abundies seeds"  while drawing this tile with flowers and then I remember reading this proverb some time ago:

This week at "I am the Diva" challenge # 324"  we were asked to create a tile using a heart shape as a string.

I decided to add  the tangle "Fife" inside the heart shape and then "Prestwood" outside it. While I was drawing Prestwood I thought it almost looked as if the heart had roots and branches growing out of it. That gave me the idea to add "PIB" as jewels growing out from the heart's branches.  It wasn't until I finished that I thought the center in each Fife's flowers also looked like little jewels and the white sections as little thorns...hence the little quote I added below my tile ;-)

This tile was done with black and brown Micron Pens, a white gel Pen for highlights and Crayola Coloured Pencils. I just bought this Crayola color pencils, and I have to say I really liked the end result. I found that specially in Zentangle's tiny spaces they allowed me  to add more colors on top of each other and still  keeping a translucent effect which is specially nice while coloring gems, as oppose to the Prismacolor pencils that I normally use, which after adding several colours on top of each other it can become waxy and matte. Can't believe the nice result for their  inexpensive price! I am loving them ;-)

For "I am the Diva Challenge #323" we were asked to create a tile that reflects your home.  So I created the next tile:

My home is in a Canadian City in Alberta, near the Prairies but also close to the mountains and beautiful forests. I tried to represent the Prairies in the Maple Leaf on the right and also how beautiful and warm they are in spring an summer with a Maple Leaf in greens and yellows, and on the left side with red fall colors and white for winter snow, the beauty of the evergreens and forests along with snowflakes and mountain peaks full of snow.

It was great fun creating this tile. My love for Canada and it's people runs deep, so it was actually a great honor and pleasure specially right after our 150th  year celebration this past Saturday.

I created this tile with black micron pen and with Prismacolor Colour Pencils, The Maple Leaf in the center was colored with a Spectrum Noir marker, -a piece of advice regarding this markers, although they colored an area beautifully leaving no markers marks or lines they do bleed a little bit so it's best to do your outer lines with another marker. Also I only use them to cover bigger areas, even their small tip is quite big for zentangles-.

Now to the tiles for Adele's Bruno "It's a String Thing"

This time I have two tiles for Adele Bruno's "It's a String Thing", one corresponds to "It's a String thing #201" which was last week's challenge. I  was so busy preparing for Canada Day celebration that I was drawing this tile between little free moments. At the end I didn't had any time to write a post and almost missed the challenge's dateline! I am glad I didn't, as it turned out it won the challenge's tile of Honor! that was a nice surprise  ;-)   

This was a fun challenge, something about summer and Canada Day inspired me to add green to "leaflet" and red to all the little circles in "Beebug". I had almost finished my tile when I had to leave the tile aside for a moment, when I came back to it my husband had added a few legs and antennas creating an "ant" with Beebug circles! funny he didn't know anything about the pattern's name, he just saw red circles and thought of busy ants and played a joke on me!... I liked it, so I finished off creating more ants and adding a little bit of brown simulating hills or cracks on the ground.

For this tile I used a black Micron Pen and Prismacolor Colour Pencils.

Now for this week's "It's a String Thing Challenge #202" we were asked to use a cloud-like string with patterns "Pop-Cloud" by Carla du Preez, "Xplode" by Margaret McKerihan and "CO2" by Antonine Megger as a way to  be part of all the celebrations with fireworks going on lately with Canada Day last Saturday and the Fourth of July this last Tuesday. 

Here is my tile:

This was my first time using this patterns. I was so relaxed  decorating all "Pop-Cloud's" different auras that I went a little overboard ;-) but I quite enjoyed it!

For this tile I used black Micron Pen, a bright yellow green Prismacolour Colour Pencil, a white gel pen and a Spectrum Noir black marker for the big black section.
