Two tiles fro "I am the Diva #330 and #331" and one tile for "It's a String Thing Challenge #210"

8/31/2017

First is my tile for last week's "I am the Diva challenge #330".Sorry it is delayed but it was a very busy week with no time for drawing until Sunday!  For this challenge we were asked to use border patterns and create a "Zentangle Plate" like those beautiful blue china plates.... so here is my take on it:

Tangles in order from top to bottom: Kelp, Finery, Kelp again, my pattern Deco Scrolls, Purk and LaFlor.

If you would like to learn to draw "Deco Scrolls"you can find the steps by clicking on the pattern on the right bar of this blog or by selecting "My Patterns" on the to menu. I hope you like it! ;-)

The second tile for "I am the Diva is for Challenge #331" where we were asked to create a tile with "Petoskey Stones from Michigan"  which are beautiful stones with fossils with a kind of hexagonal body surrounded by tentacles. I decided to use a tan colored tile and recreate this beautiful stones and then add other stones with patterns that may resemble other fossils, and here is the result:

Tile for "It's a String thing #208" and tiles for "I am the Diva Challenge #328 and #329"

8/18/2017

Last week was a very busy week for me so I didn't had any time for drawing until sunday when I did the following tile for "I am the Diva Challenge #328". For this challenge we had to use Suzanne Fluhr's beautiful tangle "Aloha" which I  pair with tangles "Fluxeed" by Terri Delaune, and "Zinger" and "Printmeps" by Maria Thomas.

Here is my tile done all with black Micron pen and Prismacolor colour pencils:

For this week's at  "I am the Diva Challenge #329" we had to use  "Fragment D-1" by Zentangle. First for a touch of summer I drew on the corner a bit of "Flux" and "Bronx Cheer" by Rick Roberts. Then I created a grid  where I drew the "D-1 Fragment" in two different colors along with "N'Zeppel" by Maria Thomas.

Here is my tile done with black and brown Micron pens and Prismacolor colour pencils:

Lastly, but definitely not least is my tile for "It's a String Thing #208" where Adele Bruno's "It's a String Thing" is celebrating the fourth Birthday of this weekly challenge!!! Four Years where week after week Adele has posted a challenge and then created a post with  all the challenge entries with encouraging individual comments for each one of them!... Her amount of work, love and dedication is amazing! The Zentangle community is greatly blessed with her presence. Thank You Adele!!!
For this challenge we had a string similar to four candles and we had to use the tangles "Knightsbridge" by Maria Thomas, "Copada" by Margaret Bremmer, "Wud" by Jonni Feddersen (I used the "Wud ribbon adaptation" by Margaret Bremmer and "Trella" by Adele Bruno herself.

Here is my tile done with brown and sepia Micron pens, graphite for shading and a little bit of Sienna brown colour pencil shading "Wud"

Two tiles for "It's a String Thing" and one for "I am the Diva Challenge #327"

8/3/2017

This time I have two tiles for Adele's Bruno "It's a String Thing Challenge" one forIAST #205 and another forIAST #206.
For IAST #205 we had a string similar to a sun and we had to use the tangles Pauline's Pigtail by Adele Bruno, Shard by Carole Ohl and Shattuck by Maria Thomas. This was my first time drawing "Shattuck" all around in a circle and somehow it created a slightly different look than my usual Shattuck. Then I added "Pauline's Pigtail" in the center and I had fun trying to create a gem around it and then "Shard" encasing it.  Here is the end result:

This tile was made with black Micron pen, a combination of Prismacolor and Crayola colored pencils and white gel pen for highlights.

Now for IAST # 206 we had a string that somehow made me think of a cushion and then when I read that one of the tangles we had to use was "Yin-Cut" by Maria Thomas I knew exactly where to start. The other two tangles to use were "Funbea" by Beate Winker, CZT and "Pach" by Judy Okawa. I decided to create a cushion with Yin-Cut and use Pach and Funbea along with a little bit of Printemps and Marasu (both from Zentangle) as the cushion decorations. Here is the end result:

This tile was made with black, and brown Micron Pens, Le Plume II marker no. 30 Rosewood for the light beige Printemps  and shading with Prismacolor pencils and graphite.

Finally,  the tile for "I am the Diva Challenge #327" we had use a beautiful pattern called "Lisbon Fragment" by Henrike Bratz and the "Diva Dance" by the Diva, Laura Harms. I did some red Diva Dance flowers and added some "Fescue with a twist" next to them.  For the "Lisbon Fragment" I colored it's sections with two different colors and then on the section of the very bottom I added some "Bales "  just for fun.  Here is the end result:

This tile was made with red Sharpie Pen marker, black Micron pen, Prismacolor Colored pencils, and white gel pen for highlights.
