Hello everyone! I am so glad to be back! I haven't participated in any challenges since Christmas time! I have been so busy, first with all the normal Christmas things and then as a New Year's Resolution I made the executive decision to add my other blog (which is about everything really, from decor tips, to recipes, to ideas I found, party decorations and so on) into this same website. Having both of them in the same place is just so much easier and convenient. Now you can see this blog as "CraftyGirl's Zentangle's Blog" and my other blog is just "CraftyGirl" (you can see both of them on the menu above), maybe you would like to visit it one day ;-). I also made a few decorative changes all around the website, I hope you like them!
Finally all that is done, and hopefully I will have more time on my hands for drawing... at least I hope so! Now let's get to the Challenges. Starting with I am the Diva Challenge, where we had the beautiful tangle "Rimana" to work with and a heart string. I loved "Rimana" and it goes so well with "Melinda Barlow's Rixty variation"! they both are so flowy and organic I had to pair them with flux. I was so happy with my drawing on the corners and intended to do everything with no color, but once I added Bales, the poor corners kind of disappeared!...keeping with Zentangles idea of don't panic and just keep going I calmed myself and added color... hopefully you will be able to see them!
3.5" by 3.5" patterns: Flux, Rimana, Bales and Melinda Barlow's Rixty variation
I made a tag for my husband you can read more about it on my other blog (link here) where you can see the original intention with them just in black and white... I personally like them more!
Now for Adele Bruno's "It's a String Thing Challenge #229" we had a heart string and the patterns "Olluan", "Caught" and "Tipple" to work with. Here is my tile:
3.5" by 3.5" tile with patterns Caught, Olluan, Tipple and Mooka
I made this tile using black and brown Micron pen, Crayola colored pencils and for the blue background a soft pastel blue stick (adding gently with Q-tip). When I saw Adele's string and the pattern Stipple on the list I immediately thought of creating something in the lines of "Abundies" one of my favorite tangles. I thought Stipple could be little seeds of love, joy and hope ready to come out ones the heart opens...I like it ;-) So I leave you with this idea, may your heart be full and open bringing seeds of joy, hope and love all around you. Happy Valentine's day everyone! Oops! one last thing, for everyone in the subscribe list, in regards to my new blog in this site, each blog has each own separate subscribing list, they are not mixed, that way you can choose either one or both of them to participate. They work separately so if you are in this blog's list you will stay as before only receive post from this one ;) Thanks for visiting and I hope you can back often! May your life be full of Blessings and Joy...Stay Inspired! - CraftyGirl 2/8/2018 05:21:53 pm
Your blog contribution is very inspiring and i admire your gorgeous tile with Rimana, Bales and the Rixty variation. Thank you :-)! Best wishes from a nightowl in Cologne , Nadine 2/11/2018 09:16:03 am
Thank you so much Nadine! I loved your tangle "Rimana" and it was a pleasure to work with it. I am sure "Rimana" will be part of my tangles to go list, it is very organic, and goes beautifully with flux and many other organic tangles, it makes me think of little acorns and seeds alike! Thanks for sharing it with all of us! Many Blessings!

Wow, so very much spring in your tile already! 2/11/2018 09:22:32 am
Annemarie your comment made me smile...maybe is just my subconscious looking for spring, as I am right now in the middle of a snow storm and all I can see outside is white ;-) ! Many Blessings! Comments are closed.
