This is my tile for Adele's Bruno "It's a String Thing Challenge #183" . For this challenge we had a string in the shape of a heart with an extra section on it's right side. and the patterns we had to work with were "Zenith" by Zentangle and "Caught" by Christine Reyes.
I created this tile using black and brown micron pens, and shaded with a little bit of graphite and Prismacolor colored pencils in sienna brown and beige.
I enjoyed this challenge so much that I did a second tile following the same string and patterns but with a slightly different idea, as you can see in the image below. For this tile I used black and brown micron pens, and did the shading with graphite and highlights with white chalk pencil and white gell pen. For the areas in red I used Prismacolor colored pencils in orange, pale vermilion, crimson red and terra cotta. While I was drawing this tile I was thinking how our hearts are full of little cells filled with memories from special moments with our family and friends, moments of joy, peace and wonder. Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day and a heart full of joyful memories.
